Sergeant Brian Ivester,
United States Marine Corps (2000–2009)

Sergeant Brian Ivester served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 2000 to 2009, beginning his career as an Aircraft Mechanic (MOS 6222) and later earning a lateral move into Air Traffic Control (MOS 7022).

Brian Ivester deployed to Afghanistan in 2004 with 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, participating in operations such as Operation Mountain Storm and supporting elements associated with Operation Mountain Blitz / Mountain Thrust (public-facing names vary historically). His deployment also included time aboard the USS Wasp (LHD-1) as part of MEU operations.

After returning from Afghanistan, Ivester re-enlisted and advanced into the Air Traffic Control field, serving at MCAS Cherry Point as a Data and Ground Controller. His leadership and technical proficiency led to his selection as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of Flight Operations for Cherry Point, overseeing operational coordination and administrative flight functions for one of the Marine Corps’ busiest aviation hubs.

Throughout his career, Sgt. Ivester earned a reputation for discipline, reliability, and excellence. He qualified Expert Rifle seven times, Sharpshooter once, and held the elite Water Survival Qualified (WSQ) rating — the Marine Corps’ most demanding water survival qualification.

Sgt. Ivester completed boot camp at Parris Island from September 25, 2000 to December 22, 2000, served in multiple high-responsibility technical roles, and concluded his service honorably as a Sergeant (E-5) in February 2009.

Today, Brian Ivester continues to apply the leadership, toughness, and mission-focused mindset forged in the Marine Corps to his family, business, and community.
